Revolve the scaled curve again. |
Using grid snap, draw a cylinder (start in front view, on the green axis, a bit higher than the top of the cylinder) |
It looks like that in top view. |
Scale 1D the cylinder as shown. Use grid snap to scale the cylinder from the center so it scales symmetrically. |
It should look like this. |
In the side view, rotate the cylinder approximately around the top edge of the ashtray. Notice that the cylinder will intersect with the blob in the middle. So undo the rotation for now. |
Move the cylinder a bit to the left, using ortho. |
Now rotate it again. |
Perspective shaded: the cylinder intersects the ashtray. |
Use polar array to create two copies of the cylinder. Use grid snap in top view to determine the center point for the polar array. |
Use boolean difference to cut the cylinders out of the ashtray body. |
Fillet the hard edges with a small radius. |
